Welcome to the Monsignor Russell E. Kohler, Knights of Columbus Council #15204 of Westland, Michigan. Our council was founded in 2010 as the Saint Damian Council. In 2013 our parish merged with two other churches. And finally in 2016, these three parishes came together as one: Saint Mary, Cause of Our Joy Catholic Church. In doing so, we decided to rename our council in honor of the late Monsignor Russell E. Kohler, a great priest and man of God from Detroit, Michigan.

The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic men’s fraternal service organization with over 1.8 million members. It provides members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people. Charity, Unity, and Fraternity are our guiding principles:

  • Charity: From the beginning, Catholics have been known for their charity and how they take care of others.
  • Unity: While one person can do wonders, a group of people can do even more.
  • Fraternity: Taking care of each other is what drove the Knights of Columbus to create an insurance program which is top-rated.
  • Patriotism: Knights of Columbus are men who are patriotic citizens. We stand up for both God and country.

Knights are committed to daily prayer, weekly Mass, and building a community of faith and helping to rebuild the domestic church. This is the Knights of Columbus difference, knowing that you are backed by a band of brothers in the quest to become better Catholic men.

Our monthly meetings are held at St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy Catholic Church from 7:00 – 8:30 PM on the Second Thursday of the Month. They are open to all Knights in good standing. Officers meet at 6:15 PM before the general membership meeting.
